Visual Timer

A visual timer shows time as a shape instead of numbers: the red circle gets smaller as the minutes pass, so anyone — including young children — can see at a glance how much time is left.

Set the time

Minutes, or mm:ss. Press Enter to set.

Pick a time, press Start, and go full screen to show it on a classroom projector, smartboard or TV. A chime plays when time is up. It runs in your browser: nothing to install, and it keeps counting in a background tab.

How to use the timer

  1. Tap a time (or type your own, like 7, 2:30 or 1h 15m) and press Start.
  2. Press Full screen to show it on a projector, smartboard or TV.
  3. When the time is up, a chime plays and the timer shows Time’s up!. Press Start to go again.

What is a visual timer?

A timer that shows the remaining time as a picture — usually a colored disc that shrinks — rather than only as numbers. It makes time concrete for children and for anyone who is glancing from across the room.

Can I use it on a projector or smartboard?

Yes. Press Full screen (or the F key) and the timer fills the screen. The screen stays awake while the timer runs on most devices.

Will the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. The timer counts down from a fixed end time, so it stays accurate in a background tab, and the sound still plays when time is up. The remaining time is also shown in the browser tab title.
